I am studying the mechanical relationships between bryophyte communities and tree seedlings along successional gradients in a montane forest to test whether bryophytes play a role in its regeneration.
In particular: - provision of drinking water at the watershed scale. - nutrient cycling in agricultural soils. - natural pollination in commercial tropical crops.
The environmental fate of pesticides used in an Andean Watershed was the focus of my previous research experience. I collected water samples from a river, rain, fog, throughfall, stemflow, and dripping mosses to analyze pesticide traces.
